Hi and welcome to Mens Fitness at 50. I know you are here because you are looking for the answers, the help and maybe the motivation, to either maintain your fitness, or are trying to get fit for the first time. You may have a health issue, or an old injury, which makes it more of a challenge; you may not have a lot of time in your weekly schedule, you may feel tired and unmotivated, and even though you know you should be keeping fit, right now you’re looking at exercise as a chore. You may have started to put on a few pounds, or your worried because you know you’re already overweight. Well congratulations you’re here because you going to do something about it…unlike other guys who leave it too late.
If you’ve always kept fit I think you’re going to continue, with some help and support. You may be finding it harder in your 50’s. I think part of the secret is, you should be making more time for the things you want to do, and your health and fitness should be on the top of your list. You probably want more knowledge about things you can do that really will work, to keep you fit and healthy, with your weight totally under your control.
If you have a health issue or old injury, it is certainly more of a challenge, but with guidance from your Doctor your overall fitness still needs to be your Number One priority to give you the quality of life you want.
If you’re not the sort of guy who has ever considered his fitness and keeping fit as part of a routine in your adult life, you have probably always taken your fitness for granted. But now as you get older you realise you need to do something to maintain what you have, or improve it. You may be feeling more tired, starting to put on weight, you may have had a little health scare and your Doctor has advised you to get more exercise.
You are at the “fork in the road”. The fact that you are reading this page means you have already started to take action. At this very moment you are pointing yourself towards the road with the gradually rising Hill, to significantly improve your GENERAL HEALTH and FITNESS in your 50’s and beyond. Yes, it’s going to take some effort, but the rewards will be great in every part of your life.
The general medical view is if you don’t make time now for your health and fitness in your 50’s, you are going to have to make a lot of time for ill health. Which certainly made me sit up and think.
For myself I have always kept fit, men of our generation grew up active, and some of us still are.
If you’re not, I think you know you need to be, and that’s why you’re here, which is great because I know from my own experience and research how important this is, to maintain and improve your fitness at 50 and beyond.
