Welcome, this could be the start to a healthier and more fulfilling life in your 50’s.

It’s a fact that there is no reason whatsoever, why you could not be looking at possibly Forty years or more of life at its very best.

In life we have choices, and our health and fitness for the greater part is in our hands, and is one of the most important choices we can ever make.

Maintaining our fitness or starting to get fit? It’s all possible with a little bit of effort each day, we can be active well into our old age – it really is that simple!

Everything starts and ends with how healthy and fit you are.  All your plans, dreams of things you want to do now and in the future revolve around this.  It should be your priority everyday.

How Can You Do This?

Where do you start? Mindset is key. I would say you need to develop this first. Health and fitness needs to be part of you, it should be something that is enjoyed and definitely not a chore.

Exercise, and an Exercise Plan that you enjoy, and which covers the four main areas, Endurance, Strength, Balance and Flexibility.  Balance and Flexibility are very important in your 50’s.  And exercising in this area alone; can help you maintain your independence for the rest of your life.  This is a very good place to start if you have not done any exercise in a long time.

Relaxation

Learn how to relax; a lot of guys never really relax.  Meditation is a great way to achieve this, and there are a lot of ways this can be done.  Sleep is also a very important part of your health and fitness, you need a good nights sleep to maintain your health.

Nutrition

Food is one of the great joys in life.  To enjoy food and get the best from it to maintain our health and stamina, we should look at the whole range of foods available; eat less, but with more variety.

Who am I?

My name is Phil Ashcroft and I will be 60 this year, and I suppose you would call me a fitness enthusiast. I’ve done a lot of research, and know what works  to keep me fit and healthy.  I would like to share a lot more of what I have learned, and am still learning, on my Journey to keeping fit and healthy in my 50’s; and hopefully help you start or maintain a health and fitness routine that you can enjoy, and not beat yourself up with everyday, like a lot of guys do.

I take my health and fitness seriously enough to want to do something about it, but I don’t want it to be a chore.  I want to feel motivated and have some fun.

Over the years my Career and a lot of other things have got in the way, limiting the amount of time I had to keep fit.  But I’ve always done some exercise, some times more, sometimes less.  Swimming, Running and my two  passions Cycling, which I’ve always done, and, Kettlebells, which, I only discovered a couple of years ago.

Maybe you can relate to this and are where I am right now?  And want to maintain a level of fitness you’ve achieved in the past.  Or  maybe you’ve not thought much about your fitness before, but realise now you could do with being a bit more active.  Maybe losing a bit of  weight – all very do-able in a way that can be fun and I’ll show you how!
