Kettlebell Burn 2.0 I Lost 20 lbs In 12 Weeks Who Else Wants To Do
If you don’t know what a Kettlebell is, and how it can help you lose weight and build muscle in your 50’s, well you’ve come to the right place! If you’ve wanted to use one and gain real results that can be achieved in a safe way, let me tell you about Kettlebells, and a little bit about my story. And this amazing Kettlebell Workout Programme I am using that delivers it all.
Hi my name is Phil Ashcroft, I am passionate about fitness. I’ve been blogging about fitness and nutrition at mensfitnessat50.com for the past 17 months. I discovered Kettlebells about 12 months ago. What are they? And how can they help you?
A Kettlebell is a free weight, the size of a bowling ball, with a handle. They’ve also been described as Cannon Balls with Handles. And they originate from Eastern Europe, Russia in particular. In recent years Kettlebell Training has become popular across the World.
I first discovered Kettlebell Training whilst doing some “Weight and Resistance Training” research online. It seemed to have been under my radar somehow. I think mainly because I had not been interested in Weight Training before. As I have said in my blog in the past, it never really appealed to me.
But as you get into your fifties you really do need to bring some weight/resistance training into your fitness plan to maintain your muscle mass and how important this is to your mobility, or lack of it, if you don’t do any. So I was aware but put it on the “back-burner” you might say. Not having found any weight training exercises that interested me.
I had a look on Youtube and saw people using them. I could see the power of these big “tea kettle” shaped things, and as heavy as a classic dumbbell. The fun and the results people were achieving really lit my fire.
Kettlebells are the most challenging and versatile piece of exercise equipment I had ever come across. So I decided this would be the year that I was going to do some weight training.
The only weight training I had done previously, was to have a go on the weight training machines, in the local Gym when they were doing one of those free day promotional Gym Passes they give out now and again. I didn’t enjoy it at all!
It wasn’t long before I went to investigate this awesome piece of equipment myself; I just knew I was going to enjoy Kettlebells as soon as I picked one up. And then my Sister, who had heard all about my interest in Kettlebells, and having told everyone, I was going to “give it a go” she did some research herself and bought me an 8kg Kettlebell for a Christmas Present a year ago. This is a good weight for a guy in his 50’s to start with. You can start heavier depending on your level of fitness. Though it’s more important to learn the exercises and carry them out correctly and safely. And then increase the weight.
I did a bit more research and started Squatting, Racking, Cleaning, Pressing and Swinging! Just a few of the terms used to describe the “reps” you work through.
Adding Kettlebells has finally brought everything into balance for me. Keeping fit has always been an important part of my life. And like every guy whether you’ve kept fit or not up to now, as we get older, we all struggle with keeping the weight gain at bay. I’m here to tell you that a Kettlebell and this amazing Programme is all you will ever need to sort it all out!
The benefit of Kettlebells compared to other free weights is, it makes sure you work every muscle group in your body. You’re getting Cardio, Weight resistance, and Toning.
It’s utilizing your entire body when lifting. And the exercising also involves swinging in a controlled way, which, to do it properly requires some practice. You contract several muscle groups at once, in particular your Core Muscle Group. This is so important to maintain stability and mobility as you’re getting older.
Well I started doing Kettlebells at home by myself. But felt I needed to build my confidence, and create more variety of exercises and to make sure I was targeting all the muscle groups and doing it in a safe way.
Kettlebell Training requires good discipline and needs to be carried out correctly to achieve the benefits and to avoid injury.
There is a lot of rubbish out there about Kettlebell Training. People who haven’t got a clue how to do it correctly and safely. Watching people using Kettlebells on Youtube is great fun, but don’t think you can learn how to do it just by watching a video. I would say there’s a good chance you’re going to injure yourself.
Not a good start for something you can really enjoy when done properly with a Workout Programme that gives you plenty of training aswell, that’s what I wanted! A Programme that would deliver real results and it was important to me to be able to do this at home, at my leisure, and not have to join a Gym or attend Classes.
That’s when I found Geoff Neupert and Kettlebell Burn 2.0. Geoff has been using Kettlebells himself and personally training people since 2002? He is a Master Instructor, One of only seven with the original and best Certification. The Russian KB Challenge (RKC).
He teaches other fitness professionals how to become certificated. He’s the “Instructors” Instructor, and has created the Kettlebell Burn 2.0 Programme which is all downloadable to your computer. With 60 day money back guarantee, and an ongoing online membership, if you want it. So I thought I would give it a try.
The Training is delivered in a very clear and concise way, in 7 PDF Manuals, which take you step-by-step through the fundamentals of Kettlebell Training. This is very comprehensive and gives you everything you need to start training safely, plus a lot more! And it can also be printed off – which I find useful. So what are you actually getting?
• “Burn Nutrition.2” Supportive nutrition – the key to eating lots of good food and still lose fat and get lean. This is absolutely essential if you seriously want to lose weight, build and maintain your muscle. Your diet is key and is so often overlooked in Kettlebell Fitness Programmes that I’ve looked at. The Workbook is easy to use and very useful.
• Burn Philosophy – It’ll make you stronger, make you leaner, and put some muscle on you. The best fatloss Programme there is. This will really show you what results you can get with Kettlebell Training. And I’ve got to say it’s working for me.
•Exercise Index – Takes you from Warming and Stretching into all the classic Kettlebell exercises. Including the “get-up” “swing”, “the press”, and a whole lot more. With very clear images and easy to follow instructions. This is the “meat and potatoes” of the programme, and having done Kettlebells for a while now using this programme, there is nothing else you need.
• Kettlebell Secret Report – This basically covers the one thing that 95% of people using Kettlebells are doing wrong, and that’s using them safely. I would definitely say that this is worth the read. Kettlebell training is very dynamic and is certainly delivering me great results. But if you get it wrong, you can sustain injuries. This is not where we want to be when we are focussing on maintaining our muscle and fitness in our 50’s.
• Nutritional Journal – This is described as your Road Map to help you burn fat instead of storing it, and is very useful if you want to make serious progress. If done properly it really delivers the results.
• Training Journal – This helps plan your exercises day-by-day recording the “reps”. I have found this to be really useful, building the level of your exercise to gain confidence and gain real results.
• Training Plan 2 – This is broken down into four phases to cover 4 weeks. Describing the exercises, the duration of exercises, and how you can alternate the workouts. Based on an A/B split sessions across 4 weeks. This is very useful in a busy week. You know what you want to achieve and you have the clear plan in place to do.
I’ve been doing this programme for over 12 weeks now, and I’ve got to say this is working out and the real training which is so often neglected in fitness programmes. So I would suggest you check it out. The depth and the support of the Course is a “no brainer” for the price and with the opportunity for further online tutorials.
I thought I was fit but weight training with Kettlebells has been a total revelation. And this Kettlebell burn 2.0 programme is the “real deal”. I have lost just over 20lbs in 12 weeks. So if you’ve been looking for a weightloss programme that works, you’ve found it. If you were just looking to get started with an exercise plan, this is the only one you’ll ever need.
