Exercise For the over 50’s

If you’re over thinking your health and fitness but not doing much about it, this great Article by Mark Sisson, shows that you can gain, or maintain, your fitness at any age, make it enjoyable and fun. At least once a week on any local news channel anywhere in the country there is a colour piece on an octogenarian who just completed a marathon, or a 98 year old man who went skydiving, or a team of rugby players all over the age of 60. Fitness isn’t exclusive to the young. Admittedly, age takes a toll on the joints and […] Read more »

But I’m not going to worry about it because I know where I am with this eat, drink […] Read more »

Kettlebells…The Story So Far

The story so far…It began for me last year.  When surprisingly I discovered Kettlebell Training for the first time, whilst researching Weight and Resistance Training. It seemed to have been under my radar somehow.  I think mainly because I had not been interested in Weight Training.  As I have said in the past, it never really appealed to me. But as I got into my fifties I started to learn that you needed to do some resistance training as you get older, to maintain your muscle mass and how important this is to your mobility, or lack of it, if you don’t […] Read more »

The Winter Weight Gain

In the Winter we all seem to add a few pounds.  When the Spring comes around it always seems hard to lose those extra pounds.  Why does this happen? The contributing factors are many; our Genetic disposition is to store extra fat when the Winter becomes colder, in the same way animals do.  For our ancestors this was vital to protect them from the cold, giving them extra fuel later in […] Read more »
